Oliver Twist - by Charles Dickens

The work is set in foggy London and tells the miserable life experience of an orphan who was Oliver. The protagonist Oliver grew up in an orphanage, experienced an apprenticeship, fled hard, accidentally entered a den of thieves, and was forced to join the vicious murderers. Oliver Twist also exposes many social problems of the time, such as workhouses, child labor, and gangs recruiting young people to commit crimes. I admire the author of Oliver Twist who is Charles Dickens because he reveals the poverty and misfortune that exist in prosperous England. Dangerous and dirty factories and coal mines are showing increasingly visible class conflicts throughout the city. My favorite line from this book is that “Dignity, and even holiness too, sometimes, are more questions of coat and waistcoat than some people imagine.”
